Astoria High School Shows Improvement in the Graduation Rate
Last week the Oregon Department of Education announce that the 4 year graduation rate for the state of Oregon increased to 73.8 percent statewide. Astoria High School experienced significant growth in its graduation rate, celebrating its highest 4 year graduation rate in more than a decade, at 75.0 percent. The partnerships with community mentors, systemic interventions for demonstrations of Essential Skills, and the dedication and effort of staff and students alike, have helped increased levels of students reach this academic milestone. While the graduation rate represents aggregate data, the work and support offered from staff to students is done on an individual basis. It is through these supports and relationships that Astoria High School optimistically looks forward to celebrating continued improvements of our students’ academic achievements.
